outbid.lol proved people will pay to stand above each other on a website. wifibids.lol takes the same mechanic and aims it at something people already look at every day: the Wi-Fi list on their phone.
The twist
The highest bidder does not get a row on a leaderboard. They get the network name. When you take #1, the SSID changes. Your brand, joke, or message sits in every nearby phone that opens Wi-Fi settings — apartments, coffee lines, sidewalks, the whole block.

How the router stays in sync
The site is the source of truth. /api/ssid returns the current name. If a webhook URL is configured, every takeover pings it so the access point can be updated automatically. Until then, the owner sets the name from the admin screen.
